So the 2nd opinion says no surgery. I may try to use proper shoes (omg)but the pain is bearable and I most certainly do not want to re-open the scar.

2nd opinion tomorrow
OK, the surgery on the right foot was in January. The last x-ray of that foot was 9/26, the CT Scan was 9/30. I have an appointment with someone new tomorrow. I think it will be easier to ask questions to someone who does not know me.
I need to know if another surgery is necessary. I need to know if I did nothing will the foot continue to swell even more. I need to know why this happened. I need to know Why Me.... I'm such a whiner :)
I got the last x-ray and the CT Scan results, too bad I can't understand them.

new musings, foot surgery...
After 10 years I finally decided to get my foot operated on for a bunion. I had the left foot done in 2000 and in January 2011, I was ready to have the right foot cut open.
I babied it, did not walk much, did not drive for a very long time and the swelling did not go down. I returned to the doctor and he was surprised by how fast the bone healed. I complained that it was still swollen and it still hurt. I go back two more times with the same complaints, and had two additional x-rays with the same results.
Summer came - FLIP FLOPS! - I was either barefoot or flip flops with a t-strap, of course actual flip flops crossed over the cut and scar. I soaked my foot in the pool and enjoyed my hot, steamy summer.
September I finally returned to the doctor and again complained that my foot was still swollen and it hurts. Telling me it's arthritis, I went for a CT Scan. There is arthritis but the foot never healed! Now the saga begins. I'm calling for a second opinion, but I'm supposed to go under the knife this year so I will not have to face another deductible. WOW! ... and I will keep the toenails red, and Carmen's adds a flower :)
